Title: Configuration Assist..
Post by: HarshReality on October 06, 2015, 08:41:14 PM
OK, I have looked and searched before anyone flames me but to be honest everything I find reads like stereo instructions...
I just got an 860L and so far on localized machines its great.. but I have a WDMyCloudEx2 hosting media (mp4 and mp3.. Upstairs I have a boxee (wireless connection) and I admit I have several other people in my home using my internet (not intranet) and this thing buffers no matter what I try.. can somebody draw me a simple setup for QOS so that the boxee and cloud server override all other devices on the network so I can get rid of this buffering problem. Since its mainly at night its in use while in bed I dont give a rats *** about the other users on the network but they still have to have some use of the network.

For any streaming, we recommend using hard wired LAN cable as wireless can be problematic along with having others on the same wifi radio doing other things.
If all devices are streaming from a external internet source, you can review this and look at the ALL Other devices rule and see if it will help:

You'll need one rule for the boxee box and another rule for ALL Other devices. You'll set the boxee box to 50 as a priority and All Other devices rule to 128 or maybe 200.

If the boxee box is only streaming from a internal file server source then I highly recommend getting it connected via GB LAN cable. It how I have mine set up.
