I have 2 DCS-5222L. When the 2.11 released a few days ago, I tried to upgrade one of my cams. It seems to work and I go to sleep after upgrading. The next morming, I found no streaming so I login the web UI, reset it and it seems to work again. But through out the day, the streaming failed repeatedly after a few minutes to two hours. So I downgrade it back to 2.03.
What are you doing DLink? You keep releasing problematic firmwares! I regretted that I bought 2 expensive 5222L, yet they do not work well together in the same network with mydlink acc.

Haven't seen anyone else post about this problem, yet. This maybe a configuration issue or a wifi issue as well. You might check out a different router as a test. Find one at Best Buy that has a 15 day return policy and see if the cameras continue with the same problem with updated FW and the new router. If not then the problem may be with your router with WRT loaded on it. I'm not sure if D-Link tests routers with 3rd party FW loaded or not. I presume mostly OEM FW to check for compatibility.

I am using wired network for the CAM.
When the streaming lost, the configuration page still works.
i.e. I can still reboot the cam via browser. And after reboot, the streaming comes back again. Yet, it will lost after a certain period of time.
(Configuration page has no problem at all. I tried to connect to the cam using Wifi / LAN on my laptop, the results are the same.)
And at the same time, my other cam with older firmware works well.
So, it is not the router problem.
-
Any chance you can down grade to FW version before v2.10?
-
I'd downgraded back to 2.03 already on the next day.
No re-config is required and the cam works fine.

reading these forums is like a horror show, who the hell is coding stuff over at dlink? the same issues after 5 years (last dlink product i owned was a router that was terrible even though it's price point was high end)
i can't even get email notifications to work, i've tried both gmail and my own isp server, "test error" is the only thing it tells me, i do not understand the reason to dumb everything down, give me a log of everything that happens and i'm sure i can figure it out but being completely blind it's irritating to say the least.

Downgrading seems to have resolved this issue if you care to try this.
I recommend that if cameras are working, avoid updating FW unless you are effected by something or have completed all troubleshooting in attempt to fix a problem. If you choose to update, I recommend updating one camera and test the FW on that camera to ensure its working. Do a factory reset, load FW, then factory reset then set up from scratch as a good method to ensure the process took. Then if there is a problem seen the rest of the cameras won't be effected by the update and you can resolve the one camera would be all that's needed.

I am facing the same problem as the OP. The video feed or image will stop showing anything after around 5 to 6 hours. Happened to both H/W B1 and B2. The camera admin page still works, and I have to do a manual reboot.
Will try to downgrade the firmware now.
-
Let us know how it works after.
-
Downgraded the B1 to ver 2.03, successfully. Will have to wait the next few hours to see whether the video stream disconnected. Will update, maybe tomorrow.
I am however, unsure whether to downgrade to ver 2.03 for the H/W B2 unit since that one is connected through wi-fi.
-
IF your sure that the one camera has a good wireless signal, the camera could be downgraded via wifi. If your to sure about the wifi signal, use wired.
-
Done. Downgraded both HW ver B1 and B2. We'll see hows its doing, so far only a few hours, still up.
-
;)
-
More than a day now, just to report that so far so good, no dropping of video stream.
-
Glad it's working again. Enjoy. ;)

If I read this forum earlier, I will not buy the 2 D-link cams. Actually, a colleague of mine bought a D-link router a decade ago. But it hangs from the first day. I regret that I didn't take his recommendation: Not to buy any D-link product!
And... Is D-link fixing the firmware?
-
Have you tried downgrading the FW? I believe one other did and it resolved there issue.

I am the OP of this topic.
Of course, I have downgraded in order to get the cameras work again.
But it is not the way it should be.
I assume D-Link will release new STABLE firmware.
While new feature is a plus, security fix is much more important.
Yet, their recent 2 versions of firmware are buggy, making the cameras unusable.
How can I trust D-Link anymore?
Who will buy D-Link products anymore?
-
I recommend that you phone contact your ISP support office and ask for help and information regarding this. If this unit was provided by the ISP, then it may have there own FW and support features which will need to be addressed directly with the ISP since it's there HW. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I bought these 2 units in a computer store.
Nothing is related to the ISP.
And there are someone else having the same problem as me.
I don't know how many users had contacted D-Link regarding to this problem.
And I don't know how many of them being asked to reboot to "solve" the problem and telling them nothing wrong with the firmware.
But I am sure that many friends of mine do not recommend any D-Link products.
-
What Mfr and model # is the main host router?
What wireless modes and security modes are you using?
Channel being used?
I recommend trying the camera with a different wireless router to see if the problem follows.
I recommend trying a factory reset, manually re-load the prior version or 2.11 FW file, then factory reset the camera and set up from scratch using one camera and test to see if the problem continues.
Users have had better luck with v2.03 so not everyone is having a bad time with the camera. IF you still experience problems with the camera the the camera maybe faulty and would need to be RMAd and replaced.

I too upgraded my FW to the latest 2.11 and I am appauled by the results.

Previous version 2.03 had no issues. Very disappointed with DLINK putting out garbage.
Says 2 way audio.. nope nothing. Complained abotu that, they told me at the help desk "return the unit if you are not happy".
So now I see 2.11 FW and I installed it. The unit will not even factory reset..
I have tried 3 times, waiting upwards to 30 secons each time.
Did the FW just brick my camera ?
What solution will you give me DLINK ?

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
