Title: Blue LED always blinking
Post by: ycavazin on November 08, 2015, 09:22:17 AM
Hi guys,

I've bought this NAS a week ago from a stupid guy that sold me a broken product without warranty.
I can't take it to D-link support because I don't have the invoice and it is without warranty.

Unfortunatelly this DNS320L are always blinking blue power led and I don't know if there is a way to fix it.

When I power on, no fan and no other noise happens. When I plug ethernet cable both green lights stays lit.
I cannot see it in my DHCP client list, and that app that comes with the CD doesn't recognize the sharecenter.

I've tried to master reset, tried to freeze it in refrigerator, tried to set an IP from MAC address, but nothing seems to help.

Does anyone have a clue if this can be fixed, or know where possible the problem are?

Thanks

First thing to do is to check the power supply brick is 12v @ 3A.  If it is then you need to check it is in fact supplying 12v and up to 3A under load.

What you are describing tends to point to either an incorrect power supply or one that is damaged and does not supply the voltage and amperage under load.

If the power supply is OK we need to then look at other reasons the unit is not booting up.

I've checked power supply with a multimeter.
All okay...

I think the problem is the motherboard, but I can't find a new motherboard to buy....

Thank you all...

Did you check the voltage UNDER LOAD?  If you didn't then the voltage is meaningless - I can charge a capacitor to 12 volts and a multimeter will read that 12 volts but the capacitor will not supply enough current to do anything.

Hi Ivan, thanks for your reply.

But my power supply is okay, this is not the problem.

Thanks.
