Hi All,
Newby here. I am trying to connect my newly purchased NAS to my TV to share movies etc. I have managed to set the network up across multiple platforms i.e. laptop tablet but i cannot get my TV to see the drive even though it is also DLNA approved . I have searched for a few hours and spotted that my TV requires PLEX Media yet on their website there is no DLink option. Came to this forum and i am stuck on where to install the Add on library I downloaded.
Couldn't find a simple step by step so I have decided to post and hopefully get a response without searching for more hours.
I am also looking to purchase another smaller SMART TV for my son to link to the NAS - any recommendations??
* ShareCenter Model: Dlink DNS 320L
* Add-on Name: DNS-320L plex Package
* Add-on Version: V1 09_10232015
* TV: LG 42LW550T 3D
I greatly appreciate any help
Regards
Lee

one thing I forgot to mention. On my sharecenter page i have no "add -on" button in the Application management section? Could this be the problem and how would i rectify?

Hi
going on that link and downloaded the addon PlexMedia Server or mediatomb or MiniDLNA.

I have completed that too but I still cant manage to update the NAS system. I am missing how to completed the action. I have now downloaded a newer firmware from DLink website and updated which has caused the web interface not to work................. Arrgh. (ive tried the hard reset to no avail as it doesn't touch the firmware...)
This has no left me unable to revert back to the original firmware or complete the upload of the Plex version (once I figure it out)
I'm thinking of sending it back - it is not doing what I wanted it to do.
Again any help is much appreciated.

What country are you in and what version firmware did you install
Always best to only install the firmware from the mydlink website (where you registered the device) ie I'm UK and use https://eu.mydlink.com/ (https://eu.mydlink.com/) then sign in then click support (top right) then select device
Regarding your LG tv - what model? Can you see any shared folders say from your pc? (make sure you have network shares set) - if yes can you access the NAS from (for example) an android device - if yes it's most likely to be a setting on the tv - hence needing the model number.
Also note that some devices cannot play certain files types (containers) and also the NAS will be restricted in what it can/can't do (transcoding)
I have a 320L and tried various options and the best yet for me personally (everyone is different ) is having Kodi installed on several devices linked to one database (on the server) and using the "device" so that my Sony BDE3100 can access. My Sony BDE3100 can access direct via DNLA but then I'd have to recode all my new or stored media.
