Title: Manual Dynamic DNS
Post by: nwxvv on December 10, 2015, 05:02:47 PM
I'm trying to setup my router (HW:A1 v1.08) with dynamic DNS and having a hell of a time.

I'm using https://domains.google.com/ (https://domains.google.com/) which might be part of the problem...
I've followed their directions to the T https://support.google.com/domains/answer/6147083?hl=en (https://support.google.com/domains/answer/6147083?hl=en) and I've talked to google support and they weren't very helpful, but they tell me my settings are correct.

Some assumptions I'm making on the Dynamic DNS page:

- Server Address: "https://domains.google.com/"
- Hostname: { registered domain name } (ex. my-domain-name.com)
- Records: IPv6 related settings that I don't need
- That I don't need port forwarding setup yet to see a connected status.
- That the router is the one telling domains.google about my ip address change

By no means am I a network expert, not even close but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Any status on this?

Still can't get it to work - Instead I'm just having one of my computers update my IP manually with a script.

I would really like to have my router do this... In the meantime I might just put dd-wrt on it, especially if everyone's having problems with the current firmware.

Might try v1.09 and see.
