Hi everyone,
First, sorry for my english. I hope it will be understandable.
If you can correct me, it will be good for me ;-)
So, I have 2 cam DCS-935L, firmware updated. Motion detection is activated with email (google) and Ftp notifications.
Everything was working great.
But since 4 days, I only get the video via Ftp. No mail anymore. When I do the email test, it is working fine.
While searching the cause, I found in the "System Log":
eMail: upload /tmp/event/eventrec20160113_001910.mp4 failed: -102
What is the meaning of that error? Can you help me?
In second, when i tried to retrieve the system log data, my browser made me go from one camera to another.
I explain: The two cam have the network names dcs-935l-1 and dcs-935l-2, ip fixed and DNS named in my bbox2.
When I click on the status menu (http://dcs-935l-1/setup.asp?menu=status), the camera's name can be 1 or 2 while the url is staying with the 1 (dcs-935l-1).
So, I did flush the dns and Ctrl+F5 to force refresh, it didn't work.
Did I miss something? I will be glad to have your input in that matter too.
Thanks for your time!

I have seen several posts (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?action=search2) about how Dlink cameras no longer work with Gmail's SMTP server. I think it is because they changed security from SSL to TLS required on port 587. Instead, you should be able to use port 465 with SSL and outbound authorization. See here (https://support.google.com/a/answer/176600?hl=en) for a full list of different SMTP servers and their settings you can use with Gmail.
What settings are you using for outbound to send your log?
Also, you may want to check your running firmware V1.01b09 or above (ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DCS-935L/REVA/DCS-935L_REVA_RELEASENOTES_1.06.B02_EN.PDF). They released a bug fix for the OpenSSL client.

Thank you, I will try that this weekend.
I will come back and tell how it works.

Any status on this? ???
-
Well, now it works. Sometimes. And sometimes it does not.
I don't know what I did exactly. I switch a few parameters but not in the mail section.
I lowered the size of the video sent by mail. Can it be that? Can it be blocked by gmail because of the size of the notification?
I don't know...
Thanks for your help!

Same problem here. D-Link support doesn't answer, this is very annoying.
After some googling, I think that this -102 might mean something like "Network disconnected". As my internet connection is working otherwise and the camera stands about 1 meter from the router, I wouldn't really understands what's going on. On the other hand I read about plenty of people who report connection problems with the camera, so maybe there actually is something wrong with these DCS-935 things...

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)
- What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool: 192.168.0.93 DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)
Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)

Thanks for your reply!
> What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
"A1"
>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
v1.08.06
> What region are you located?
Germany
> What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Speedport W 724V
> What wireless modes are you using?
5 GHz (tried 2.4 GHz before, same problem)
> I recommend setting a static IP address
Yes, that's how I set it up
> Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding
Could that be somehow connected to the problem, that the camera couldn't send an email?
> Setting up email
Email seems to be set up correctly, as the camera "often" sends emails successfully. My (and the OP's) problem is that emails are not always sent out. In my case I would think that about 20% - 30% of emails are not sent, the other 70% - 80% cases are working.
Interestingly that's only the case with emails containing photos/videos. I've also setup an email alert in case a motion was detected (on mydlink portal). This mail is always sent correctly.
Do you have any idea what status "-102" means?

I would try enabling uPnP and uPnP Port Fowarding and test to see if there is a difference in behavior.
I don't know what Error -102 is. Something your regional D-Link support office might be able to answer.
