Hi, I have a DNS-345 and would like to add 2 x 4TB drives as RAID 1, then later on when I am running out of space add another 4TB drive and so on, how is this done?
Would setting up 2 drives as RAID 1 then adding another drive later configure it to RAID 5?
thanks

Why would you want to use RAID 5 which is not the best use of resources (all the professional storage units have given up on RAID 5).
Yes you can create a RAID 1 array and later add another disk as a standard drive without problems and if you add another pair of disks you can end up with a second RAID 1 array (that is how we set up the DNS-345 for our clients).
