I have an older DIR-655 version A2 Firmware 1.37 that is only used with 3 wired computers. With my ISP providing 100 down 10 up service speed testing has consistently shown 117 down 12 up. Had the speed increased to 300/30 up and when the Arris 6190 modem is directly wired to one computer get 325/35 up. Using the same cat 6 cable and connecting through the router speed slows to 35/35 up. Cox communications then backed the speed down to the 100/10 and I am again getting 117/12. Out of curiosity I unplugged one computer and using wireless get 18/12.

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.
- Turn off ALL QoS (http://vonage.nmhoy.net/qos.html) or Disable Traffic Shaping (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options, Advanced/QoS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_of_service).

Am in Arizona
Followed your directions to disable Traffic Shaping and Cox upgraded me to 300/30 again. Then got 53/33, slightly better than the previous 35/35. Returned service to 100/10 and speed test showed 115/2. Re-Enabled Traffic Shaping and returned to 117/12.
I have had this modem for 6 or 7 years so won't be upset if it is too tired to do the job. Would prefer to continue using this DIR-655 but if I can't will look at purchasing the new DIR-879 due to be released next week.
Used Firefox to log into the router. Wondering why you don't approve of Safari.

Ya the Rev A version you have is several years old and may have not been designed to support higher ISP speeds over 100mb so you maybe exceeding it's capability when on 300Mb.

Just FYI, new generation routers have a new UI and are not like what you see on the 655. ::) The last model routers with the older UI is the DIR-868l and 866L.
