Hi,
My dns 325 has failed.
I am trying to get the data off the drives. Using the details under the sticky data recovery post, I have booted my PC to an Ubuntu stick and plugged the drives into a usb caddy.
the system sees the drives, however it only reports one drive of 512mb and not the main volume_1 of 3.0tb.
any ideas how i can get access to the main drive.
regards

Hi,
an update, i figured it out.
in ubuntu, you load an app called disks
then you can see the separate partitions. There is a partition that has not mounted with all the data on. It has a raid format.
Click on it, underneath, it defines the partition and more importantly, gives an option to start the raid.
once the raid is started, you can see the disk and copy data off it.
hope this helps

I am happy that you managed to figure it out, all too often people take fright at using an operating system they have not seen before and put using it in the 'too hard' category. You sharing your experience encourages me to keep on trying to help people.
One last thing. Backup, backup, backup, I can't emphasise it enough.
