Hi,
I purchased a new DNS-323 about 1 week ago which came loaded with F/W: 1.06. I went to d-link site and saw version 1.07, so I downloaded it and installed it. It installed with no issues. I installed 2 Western Digital 160 GB HDs and stuck them in Raid 1; only 1 volume. It formatted and rebooted okay. I then tried to load BT from the Easy Search Utility (ESU) (version 4.4.0.0). It'll look like it's loading okay but won’t actually install.
I tried on two computers, my laptop and my desktop; from both it still fails installation. On the laptop it'll start loading/installing BT but then when it's done and will go to the reboot screen I get the error "Please Check Hard Drives ".
From my desktop, it'll load/install and even show the reboot message and scroll through it. After it reboots, I’ll try to go to the BT webpage and it'll say it's not installed and to use the ESU to install it.
I see the folder and the BT folder inside but don't see any files inside the BT folder.
I've tried reformatting the drives more than 5 times and re-installing BT from ESU over 20 times, all with no success.
I've noticed that there is a new beta version F/W, 1.08, how solid is it? Is it stable enough to use? Will it fit my BT issue? I also noticed a beta file "apkg_bittorrent_100_beta", how do I load/install this version? Is this also solid? Will this fix my issue?
I’m basically looking for any suggestions/help/options to fix this issue; also without ruining/locking my DNS-323 as it is practically brand new.
Can you guys provide me with any help, advice on this to finally get BT installed?
Regards,
Chris K.

thanks ECF, but BT still fails for me. I have tried all below things which were mentioned in the forum link you gave and still it fails. reading what i wrote exactly in first post as well as below in this post explains exactly my setup and what i've tried.
i've tried to switch harddrive locations and install bt.
each drive and each format attepmt has completed successfully
i only have 1 volume, volume_1
i see a Nas_Prog folder on volume_1 - i've tried to remove the folder but can't, access denied
i have the BT folder inside the Nas_Prog folder too but nothing is in the BT folder and the BT tab on the webpage still kicks me out.
there is nothing on the Volume_1
the drive/volume_1 is easily scene and mapped and accessed, i can copy, modify and delete files and folders on the drive/volume_1
i've tried using the ESU on my laptop and desktop which both fail with the BT instalation. everything has been rebooted more than once.
i have no firewall blocking traffic.
anyting else i can try? should i load the beta 1.08 firmware? how solid and reliable is the beta 1.08 in it's current state?

i guess there is nothing else i can do/try until 1.08 is released? how good is the 1.08 beta? is it even worth trying it? is it a good solid beta or still too premature?
i'm stumped and lost as to the fact that nothing has worked so far and there are no suggestions at all.....

The 1.08 beta is great I have not ran into any issues and it should resolve you BT issue. BT is loaded as an app through the interface so you wont run into the issue you are having. Check out the Beta forum..

thanks. i will give the beta 1.08 a try. hopefully it resolves my issue and more importantly i run into no issues.
i will post back and let you know how it goes.
any update or clue as to when the final version of 1.08 comes out?

Sign in to the 323 and click on the "Download" button. Takes you right to the BT.

my apologies for the late reply.
i downloaded and installed the 1.08 beta firmware that day and everything went smoothly. i then installed the bt module which also finally worked and went smooth. i've been using the dns-323 since then so far without any issues. way to go with this new firmware, for me it's been nice and solid - so far.
can't wait until the official release and see whatelse they add and which other modules they come out with.
thanks :)
