is it possible to use 2 units at the same network to see and record 18 cameras?
-
DNRs don't support but only maybe up to 5 or 6 cameras I believe at a time.
-
Furry, have you been told by D'link to say 5 or 6 cameras because the DNR-322L is advertised as recording 9 cameras . I'm here to tell you I have tried 9,8,7,6 and 5 and it will only do the 5 with any success.

Even if you turn down the frame rate on everything?
Maybe your storage device isn't fast enough?

I think amount of connected units is based off of frame rate, I presume if you set ALL cameras to a low frame rate, the more cameras connected should work. The higher frame rate, fewer cameras wouldn't only be connected.
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. Reference this forum thread as well. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
