Hi.
I just got a DIR-890L.
I disabled Smart Connect to setup both 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi.
Problem is, I can't see any 5Ghz wifi at all. I have factory restored, restarted etc. No luck.
I have V1.08 FW installed but I saw there is a V1.09 beta. I don't know if I can use it thou as I'm in EU. The FW file for the US and EU V1.08 are the same. Would it be safe for me to try the V1.09 beta?
If not, any suggestion as to why I can't get the %ghz-band going?

You do have 5Ghz supporting client HW right? Just checking.
What devices do you have that your connecting to the 5ghz radio?
Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
- What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
- What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
- Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use a WiFi Scanner (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48327.0) to find out. How many?
You can try installing the beta and test. Follow the Link> >FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)
If this fails to get the 5Ghz radio going on your 5Ghz supporting HW, the router maybe faulty and needs to be replaced.

My 5Ghz-clients are: Sony 4K TV, iPhone 6 Plus, Xbox One, Chromecast.
ISP is the swedish Telia and I have their recommended ASDL-modem.
There are other routers in the neighborhood, but no 5Ghz ones as far as I can tell.
The V1.09 beta solved many of my problems. 5Ghz is working now and lots of other problems were also solved. This seem to be a good FW. :-)
I did have a slight issue this morning thou. When I woke up the net was frozen and I had to reboot the router. Could be a one-off thou, so we'll se tomorrow.

It seem to work quite good now.
All problems seem to be FW releated. That's good, for they may be able to fix most of them then.
