Title: 127.0.0.1 is streaming video ???
Post by: cmillar6 on March 21, 2016, 05:19:09 AM
I am seeing "127.0.0.1 is streaming video" in the system log for the 2630L every 5 minutes despite the camera not appearing to stream any video at all.  What is this message?

Local host.  I'll log into mine tonight and see if it is doing this as well.

Unfortunately, I can not connect to the camera tonight.  My 960L can connect, but not the 2630l.  I can't reboot my router until the weekend.

I even tried with external IP and port forward.  I even power cycled the 2630L.  Oddly - I can connect through mydlink phone App.

Bummer, let me know when you do manage to connect if you see this in your syslog. I did file a support ticket as I suspect its a firmware bug. I checked my router logs for the 2630L and no connection is being made to the internet when this happens.

Try setting a static IP address on the camera...try 192.168.#.26, be sure uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding is enabled.

I can see my 933L currently thru the MDL site.

I reboot the router in an attempt thinking it was causing my slow network connection.  Motorola cable modem power levels look fine - and not throwing any error messages. SpeedTest.net show 4.39Mbps down and 0.09Mbps up.  That's way off 30/6 that I usually see.  Ping has been in and out.

Well the reboot didn't help - still can't access.  It is on DHCP - but I'm going to the assigned IP that my router gave it. I'll set up static and see if that helps.

Don't want to turn this into troubleshoot my 2630l thread... but UGH..didn't help

Error message below.  Doing a power cycle on the cam and waiting a few minute this time.

I use DHCP reservation on my router so no need for a static address. I tried turning on UPNP port forwarding but it didn't help.

Yeah looks like I'm going to need to factory reset the camera to get back into the F/W :(

From Dlink;

About your query Chad, the camera sends information to our servers every 5 minutes. It does so because it needs to re-establish the connection as our system is designed to refresh the connection. Furthermore, the 127.0.0.1 is your Internet IP address, which the camera is using to connect to the our servers.

Those entries are normally seen in the cameras logs and suggest that the camera is working properly.

Thanks.

Although that's kind of funny.   :o

I've never seen this in any other dlink camera model I  have.  (I'm out of date on many f/w releases though).

I own 4 Dlink cameras, I've not seen it as well although only the 2630L has the log file in the firmware.  The explanation does not make sense as they term 127.0.0.1 the cameras internet IP. Additionally, I don't see the camera connecting to the internet every 5 minutes in the logs on my router.

So I've been going back and forth with Dlink on this and evidently "127.0.0.1 is streaming video" showing up in the sys log every 5 minutes is normal behavior. I currently have 1063 entries of this in my log which makes searching the log for other things more difficult. Is nobody else seeing this in their DCS2630L log??   Dlink will remove it in future firmware updates.

You might contact D-Link support and ask them about this...
