- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
I don't know how many connections as I've never attempted to access any USB storage on routers with more than one connection. I would give it a try and see what you find out.
Try this: How to map a USB Drive to your PC without using Shareport software (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=46133.0)

hello
if you are using that shareport app/program ... only one pc at a time can be connected to the usb harddrive plugged into the 655 router.... :-\

Let us know what you find out either way. Over all USB on routers has limited capabilities. If your needing more than one or two connections at a time, you need to look into NAS(DNS) for multiple user capabilities and sharing.
