Title: Router seems to be throttling my Internet speed
Post by: robertjm on April 29, 2016, 01:44:14 PM
Hi all,

I have an AC1200 router (DIR-860L) which seems to be destroying my internet speeds.

If I connect my laptop directly to the Motorola SB6141 modem, Comcast is giving me 170Mps/20Mps. Screaming speed!!

However, the moment I introduce this router into the equation, I'm getting 7Mbps/1.5Mps  :-(

Is there a setting in the router somewhere which I need to tweek to get the full throughput? This is the same results whether I'm doing it through my Mac Mini, which is hardwired to the router, or my laptop, which is using wifi. I'm just not seeing anything that might be causing such a degradation in speed.
