I have had my D'link DCS-5020L for almost a year now, and it has been turned on all the time.
Last month I figured out that it would just automatically turn off by itself after a couple minutes after I've turned it off and on.
I have set up my camera to send me notification whenever it recognizes a motion, but it doesn't send me notification anymore - beacause my camera just turns off all the time.
I'm gonna travel very far soon, and I need a solution to fix my Dlink camera within next month.
Wifi is not a problem, it works excellent.

- What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?
- Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences?
- Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use a WiFi Scanner (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48327.0) to find out. How many?
I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.20 DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)
Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)
Also check the power adapter for the camera and make sure the power voltage is the same as seen on the sticker.

- Eidsiva Bredbånd AS
What wireless modes are you using?
- 5 Ghz
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
- 5 meter
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?
- 6. Which is 4 phones, 1 Chromecast and 1 DCS-5020l Camera.
Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences?
- Only one wireless device is connected to the main host router. Both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. My device has been like this for almost a year and my problem occurred approximately a month ago. Which leads me to think that the wireless device connected to the main host is not the problem.
Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use a WiFi Scanner to find out. How many?
- 2 other WiFi routers shows up, as usual.
Everything has worked fine for 10-11 months, now it just disconnects itself.

What wireless modes are you using on the main host router? Mixed? Try single mode N or mixed N and AC
What security modes are you using? Mixed? Try AES only.
What channels are you using on the radio?
