I just purchased this NAS and have two WD 1G drives in a RAID 1 configuration. I have a lot of media files in multiple folders that I'm moving from my computer to the NAS. Coming from two different Vista machines and a system running XP, I keep having the same problem:
I choose some folders and choose "copy", I "paste" the folders to the mapped drive and it starts transferring. I come back a few minutes later and, although there are no errors, the file transfer has stopped part way through. Any clue what's going on here? I haven't had this problem between two computers, but I'd think that if there was a problem Windows would have popped up an error or some sort. Instead I get nothing...the file transfer window is closed and there are no errors. If I didn't see that the files weren't copied, I would have thought that it had finished.
Any thoughts?

Does this happen from transfers from all PCs on your network? I have never herd or seen anything like this without even an error message...thats odd.
Have you ever watched to see what is happening when it stops if maybe something pops up for a second or 2? Is the volume still accessible after this happens?

Now that I think of it, I'm not sure that it happened on the XP machine since I really haven't moved much yet from that one, but it has happened multiple times on two Vista machines on my network. Copying DVD files (I have copied all of my kids dvd's to computer to reduce damage to the originals). I have not been at the computer when it stopped, but it sometimes has happened just a few minutes after starting the transfer.
It certainly doesn't make any sense, I'd expect to at least see an error message in Vista, so I'm not sure where the fault lies.

Maybe check the event log in Windows. There might be some clue there.
