Title: DNR-202L A1 with firmware 2.02?

Sorry for the newb question, but I have a DNR-202L version A1 with which I want to upgrade the firmware to 2.02. Can I use the 2.02 firmware with the A1 hardware version, or is is designed to only work with version A2?

Yes you can use v2.02 with all Rev A versions.

You can upgrade your A1 to firmware 2.02 without any issues. Once you upgrade to firmware 2.x, you can't revert back but the newer firmware supports more cameras and more USB drives anyway.
