I've been messing with my image settings for the past two days now and cannot get it to sharpen up as it had been before. I am on fw 1.05 and am going wireless.

I noticed that the camera image was getting grainy and pixelated, so I started messing with it. I have gone through all the settings, doing one step at a time and cannot get this thing to tune in. I used to be able to read my neighbor's license plate before, but now cannot.

Is there a recommended methodology to follow, such as go back to default, adjust gain first, then brightness, then etc. etc.? Maybe the camera is now just fubar or something.

I have googled, utubed like crazy and can't find anything. There used to be a guy that posted his settings somewhere before, but I cannot find that website anymore.

Since the image quality affects motion detection, I also have to wait until nightfall to adjust the motion detection sensitivity as too much snow causes it to record continuously if too sensitive.

Any help would be appreciated.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?

Check the lens of the camera to make sure it's clean.

Try a factory reset then set up from scratch.

Use low noise instead of auto.
Use denoise option if you use auto.

What region are you located? - I am located in Japan.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?  - NETGEAR R7000
What wireless modes are you using? - 2.4N
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router? - about 20 ft.
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router? - about 5.
Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences? - there are a few in the neighborhood.
Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use a WiFi Scanner (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48327.0) to find out. How many? - I'll have to check.

If I start from scratch, what is the recommended method to tune in the image? Start at default and then what?

Wow, low noise just makes everything white. Can't use it for some reason. So I put it back in AUTO with MAX GAIN at 18.
DENOISE - 10
BRIGHTNESS - 5
CONTRAST - 4
SATURATION - 128
SHARPNESS - 5
WHITE BALANCE - AUTO

Low noise it meant to be used at night.
