Title: Anyone have a DIR-655 working with a Zune?
Post by: isuzudave on November 13, 2007, 10:24:27 PM
I just got the new software and firmware for my Zune that will allow it to sync via my wireless connection but it does not see my wireless network with the DIR-655.  I am broadcasting the SSID and I have it set for wireless N and G.  The Zune is 80211.g/b.  I connected my old wireless router (Linksys WRT54G) to my 655 as an access point and the Zune is able to connect that way.  The Zune does not even see my DIR-655 when I scan for wireless networks.  I have the latest firmware on my 655.  Any ideas on how to get this to work?  I would like to be able to get rid of the Linksys router for good.  I have two laptops that connect to my DIR-655 with DWA-652 cards at 300mbs and they work fine.

Also, if I get the Zune (802.11g) to connect with my DIR-655 will it bring my laptops speeds down to 8021.11g while the Zune is connected.  If so, then I guess I would be better off leaving the Linksys router connected.

I have tried everything I can think to get this working with my DIR-655 and not having any luck.  I guess I will be keeping my Linksys Router.  One corner of my office looks like a Christmas tree with all the lights from my networking equipment.

I guess the other three people in the world who bought Microsoft’s  Zune don't use it with this router.

Mine seems to work fine, did nothing special.  I am running WPA2 encryption and the zune finds my network and asks for a passkey.

What model zune do you have?  I have the older 30GB model.

I have the same. just as note (you probably know this so I apologize if you do) but you will need to leave the pc with the zune pairing on during this process.

It must be a setting on my router set wrong, or it is broken.  An Xbox 360 can't see my DIR-655 either.  I have tried setting the router to "G" mode only, and it sitll did not work.

Have you tried factory-reset on the router?

Also -- can you see the devices in the status page?javascript:void(0);

-g

I have not done a factory reset yet.  I have it working with my old wireless router now, so I have not been troubleshooting it as hard as I could.  I will try the factory reset later today.  I assume there is just a button on the router that needs to be held down for a reset?  The device are not connected to the D-Link router so they do not show up on the status page.
