Title: Printing with HP AIO USB printer on a mac.
Post by: itchyfingers on July 16, 2009, 08:42:21 AM
Hi, i'm having huge troubles getting this to work. Tried it quite a few times but it never could work. I'm wondering if the below combination is compatible.

1) iMac w/ Mac OSX 10.5.7
2) DNS-323 2X1.5TB
3) HP PSC 1402 AIO USB Printer

I've tried it and managed to install the printer using the windows tab in the print and fax settings. The problem comes when i try to set the printer driver. There is no such printer driver as the HP PSC 1402 but when i plug the printer on directly to the imac's USB port, it works perfectly. As such, i had to use the nearest driver which was the HP PSC 2110. That didn't go well. When printing, it would see like it was printing and processing, but in the end, it just went back to idle and nothing comes out of the printer.

I tried to create the .lpd directory in the vol 1 drive, but it still doesn't work. Any ideas? i think i've no hair left. Thanks!

Do you have a Windows PC on your network to see if it works in Windows XP or Vista?
