Title: Unable to log into connect to DCS-942L
Post by: LMS on August 23, 2016, 09:39:49 AM
All of a sudden I am unable to connect to 1 of my DCS-942L cameras.  Nothing has change with any of my settings on my router or with any of my cameras.  I tried reinstalling the firmware which did not help.  I also did a reset and went through setting the camera up as if if were the first time and still cannot connect.  I have tried to connect using an iPhone, iPad & a PC to no avail.  In every instance the camera in question is showing up as being online but i can't seem to connect.  Any thoughts on what I can do?

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.93   DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)

How many cameras do you have?
What OS platform are you using on your PC and mobile devices?

Turn off all other cameras then reset the camera in question and try to set it up from scratch. Use the most current set up software for PC to set it up.

Not in front of the camera right now but I can answer some of your questions.
Hardware version is A if I remember correctly but will check
Firmware is 1.26
My region is Nova Scotia
The main router is a dlink DIR-655
The wireless mode being used is 802.11n & 802.11g
The distance between the Camera and the main host router is approximately 20’ same level
I have 3 DCS-9421L cameras at this location connected to the main host router plus iPhone & iPad
I do not have any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs in the vicinity
There are other WiFi routers in the area but the channels do not conflict
I have assigned static ip address to all my devices
I have in total 18 cameras in 6 locations
I set the camera up in question with a windows based pc today

Ok, thank you for this information.

I would turn off the other two while you get this 1 particular camera going when you encounter this issue. Possible that there maybe some networking issue going on. Try setting up the camera wired LAN cable first, then once it's set up, disconnect the LAN cable, test wireless connection and video, then place back in it's remote location.
