Title: Uplink on DGS-1210-28p
Post by: bhhickman on August 23, 2016, 11:36:41 AM
I recently upgraded from a DGS-1100-8p to a DGS-1210-28p and have run into issues with my VLANs and DHCP coming from my DSR-250 router.

The DSR-250 is configured as the DHCP server of multiple VLANs.  Port 1 of the router is configured as a trunk with all VLANs.  (1,2,250,3).

The DGS-1210 is configured with port 1 as a tagged member of each VLAN (1,2,250,3), the PVID is set to 1.  Port 7 is configured with VLAN 250 untagged and 1 tagged.  The PVID of port 7 is set to 250.  However, the device on port 7 will only pull IPs from VLAN1.  No device on the switch will pull anything but a VLAN1 IP, but I thought I would focus on this one for simplicity.  Previously, appropriate DHCP traffic was passed to the DGS-1100.

I have stuck with all D-Link hardware in the hopes that support will be easier.

Recap:

DSR-250: (router and dhcp server for VLANs)
port 1:  vlan 1, 2, 250, 3 - trunk mode

DGS-1210-28p:
port 1: vlan 1, 2, 250, and 3 - all tagged
port 7: vlan 1 and 250 untagged

Device on port 7 will only pull a VLAN 1 address.

Hi.

will it make any difference, if you do the following?

EDIT: As an alternative to [1] at port 1 of your DGS-1210 you can also leave PVID=1 and configure VLAN 1 untagged, both at port 1 of your DGS-1210 and at the opposite port of your DSR-250. /EDIT
