That link didn't work for me, today i turned on my computer with dlink main console installed and it gives the error device pack not installed. It has been working fine for ages, just came into the forums to see what I could find by the keyword device pack and figured maybe this is what I need vs a full reinstall?

Ok, something's wrong now.
Uninstalled the previous version and updated to the latest without issue, but now under the MainConsole Settings, my "Run as a Windows Service" is greyed out... any thoughts?
Server 2008 STD
-
Did you open the main app using the administrator privileges?

As in, Right-Click "run as administrator" - yes.

I wonder if something was removed in this newer version...2008 may have fallen off support for DVC...You installed using Admin rights as well?
I don't see 2008 STD on the list of supported OSs:
OS Supported 32bits: MS Windows XP pro SP3 / Vista SP1 / Win 7 SP1 / Win 8
64bits: Win 7 SP1/ Win Server 2008 R2 / Win 8 / Win Server 2012 / Win 10

Doesn't look to be the issue either, I installed it on a Server 2008 R2 as well, with the same results unfortunately... bizarre.

What version did you have prior to v4.0.5?
-
Is there a DVC service listed under Management control panel/Services?
Do you have UAC enabled or disabled?
-
What version did you have prior to v4.0.5?
v4.0.4
Now I'm running 4.1.1 and still the same thing.
Re-enabling UAC and restarting. Will test and get back to you. Thanks!
-
What region are you located?
I don't see v4.1.1 list for the NA region as of yet.
-
I see where you got it. ;)

Ha, yeah in my haste to try something different, I didn't pay attention to the region I was downloading it from. Seems to work just the same though, so I'm keeping it. :P
... still have the option greyed out though. :/

I'll see if I can find some information on this...
Can you install this on a Windows 7 PC and see if you notice the same problem?
-
I would fully uninstall v4.1.1 and make sure all services were remove that belong to DVC. Then install the prior version to see if it has the services enabled... If so, then maybe v4.1.1 may not be best for 2008 Server.

Just installed on Windows 7 - same issue. :/

This was happening even with 4.0.4 - so which version do you think I should go back to?
-
I don't remember seeing this function before, and really wanted to set it up for the newer version(s). Is there an archive of versions out there I could try with? I wonder if there's a setting in my GPO's somewhere that's preventing any Domain user from ticking this setting.
I'll try it from a different computer tonight and see if that box is still greyed out.

Please try a non server PC and test. You can try v3 and test as well. Possible the GPO could be hindering services. ::)

Tested the software on a separate system, non-domain, and the "Run as a windows service" is still greyed out. :(

Would installing the SW using compatibility mode for the installer set to XP change anything?

Im having this same exact problem . I try to download the device pack and it takes me to a page that cannot be displayed. My main console will not work because it says I need device pack installed.
-
I would remove and delete the program then install the program from scratch. IT should install the device pack automatically.
What OS platform are you using?
