Title: DFL-260E - Change admin password
Post by: vimfuego on October 11, 2016, 04:18:55 PM
Hi All,

My DFL-260E is running OS version 10.22.01.04-26411.
I cannot find where I can change the admin password via the web-interface, does anyone know if it can be done via LAN or does it need to be via a console connection?

Thanks.

Might review the user manual to see where to change the PW at. I would think you can doing thru the UI.

The user manual only shows how to do it via the console connection  :(

I'm afraid not, from what I can tell it is serial RS-232...I haven't had a PC with one of those ports for probably over a decade. Sure I could buy a USB adaptor etc but what a waste of time and effort if it can be done through the Web UI somehow.

Sounds like a security item to only change admin password from console.

How old is yours?  It looks like the newer models have USB.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
