I am fairly adept at configuring my network but this one is stumping me...My internet connection died today so I started troubleshooting...
Here is the main problem.. I can connect to the router if I use the WiFi connection but can't connect with ethernet. When i login via wifi, it shows that both wireless and eihernet are connected and both have IP addresses assigned by the dhcp server. But when i do an ipconfig it only shows the wireless adapter IP and not the ethernet adapter... it only shows the autoconfig address and no default gateway. I have reset the ethernet adapter and it appears to be working fine ... what I am missing here?

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)
- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
- Has a Factory Reset (http://blog.dlink.com/what-is-a-reset-button-when-should-i-use-it) been performed?
Is this one PC using WiFi and LAN cable Ethernet connects at the same time with the router? Try turning OFF the WiFi and use LAN cable connect only and see.
When your connected WiFi and disconnect the LAN cable from the PC, is internet accessible?
Try a different PC or laptop.
Might power OFF the router and PC for 1 minute then test...
Swap LAN cables as well between the PC and router.
Disconnect ALL other devices from the router while testing with just one PC.

ok... the problem seems to have been fixed. I actually use this router to connect to my internet router.
here is what i did...
reset the router, set new password
reconfigured network ip setup, reconnected to router via wifi
reconfigured internet DNS server and restarted router
it showed both adapters and assigned IPs
ran ipconfig and both adapters appeared with assigned ip
only thing i did differently this time was to flush my dns cache and add the internet router dns to this router
still not exactly sure how it fixed itself but i'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth :o ::) ;D

So the 655 is behind another router? If so, I would configure the 655 for this:

You always want a single NAT condition, not double NAT. ;)
