D-Link VPN Router => DSR-250 => Topic started by: cgutzmer on November 22, 2016, 12:14:41 PM

Hi,
I set up my DSR-250 to forward a couple of ports for my cameras. Everything works fine when only one port is forwarded. When I add the rest of the cameras ports in the FIREWALL section I can only get the FIRST one on the list. If I move another camera to the first position in the FIREWALL section I can get to that one, but none of the others until I move it to the FIRST position. Is there something I am missing in the setup for forwarding? When I scan my PC from the outside world for any of the other ports other than the first one it states CONNECTION REFUSED.
Any help would be appreciated.

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Is there a Virtual Server feature or something where you can enter in a range of IP addresses that needs to have forwarding operations performed for multiple devices and this model router? Sorry I don't have this router or much experience with it. I know D-Links home class routers have features where you an enter in a range of IP addresss and tie them to ports that needs used for that configuration.

Hi,
The firmware version has been all of them up to 211 the latest and greatest. The hardware version is A1. Region not sure what you are asking.
I've tried different combinations of APPLICATION RULES, CUSTOM SERVICES, and FIREWALL RULES. Still, only the number 1 in the firewall rules will open the port. The firewall rules will only open one IP address. I don't believe that the DSR-250 has a VIRTUAL SERVER. Of course I could be wrong.
Still at a total loss as to why one and only one port can be opened.

I don't have this model router so I don't much experience with it.
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Sounds like a good idea.
I have about 5 cameras that I want to see from the outside world. My other Router a TP-LINK TL-R860 works perfectly with all 5 of them.
When I have all 5 listed in the FIREWALL section only the number 1 will work no matter how I move them around, just the number 1 entry. LIke the firewall routine doesn't get any further than the first one and then gives up. So strange.
Would you happen to have their phone number handy?
Thanks for your help FurryNutz!

Thanks for the Phone Number! I would have looked it up, but there was no paperwork with this router.
Well, lets see if they can help now.

Hey,
Well, after messing around with more combinations of IP's and Ports I finally got it to work. Now have 20 ports forwarded. Had to add the From IP which was my ISP IP's address. Now all is good! Thanks again.

Glad you got it working. Thanks for letting us know.
