Hello all, I've had this camera for a few months and it's only recently started doing this. It really clutters up the SD card, not really an issue with file size as both the log and the picture are pretty small, but how do I keep this from happening? Under Media Type, I only have Video Clip selected, and only have one Media Type defined. I've factory reset my camera, set up motion recording via the mydlink.come site as well as logging directly into the management console of the camera. Thanks

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)
- What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Maybe something that is done automatically can can't be disabled. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Hardware Version A2, Firmware Version 1.14.03. Region is US. Was really hoping to not contact them, they were less than helpful and I knew more about they product than they did.

Might ask for level 2 or higher support about this...
This is something that is a FW level inquiry and would need higher level support to hopefully answer for you.

I get what you are saying, but I've been running the same Firmware since I got the thing, and this only started happening in the last week or so.

Any any changes to the configuration? I presume only a configuration change may cause something to happen and produce new behaviors if you had not seen this issue before.
-
The only config changes I have made are to allow for larger file sizes and higher res video and bumped up the sensitivity as it was not picking up motion when I wanted it to. None of what I changed should be generating additional files.
-
I would either go back and undo these changes and see if anything changes in the file generation and or do a full factory reset on the camera and set up from scratch and use just default settings at first to see if the files are still being generated at this point or not. Then take note of changes and configurations and see if the files appear at any time frame.
