Title: Notification stand down Period
Post by: Eleihun on May 17, 2017, 03:56:13 AM
Hi,

Just got a DSC-825L and have installed MDL on my wifes iPhone. However, it seems it will only send 1 notification every 5 minutes, based on my rough testing. Once a notification is sent it, and the notification itself triggers nice and quick from sound and motion, it won't send any other notification for around 5 minutes. The myDlink Baby monitor app on iPhone is doing exactly the same.

On my Android phone however, I get notifications whenever there is motion or sound, with about a 10 second stand down between notifications.

Does anyone know what is going on here? Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing?

Thanks.

Cheers,
Shawn.

Sorry for the delay.
H/W: A1
Firmware from the info in the app: v1.08-6505
Region: The device was purchased from the US.

IOS version: 10.3.2
App version: v3.7.1 build 2464

With a bit of further testing I have confirmed that when in the app it is picking up motion and sound correctly, but it is the push notifications that have a 5 minute delay. This is also happening on the Android (I've switch to the mydlinkbaby app there - same issue). When in the app the notifications are effectively instant. However all push notification only trigger once every 5 minutes. Is this just how the app is built or is there a setting I'm missing?

Thanks.

[edit] Sorry I should have mentioned when I started the thread the IOS OS version was an older one - not sure what it was. I updated the OS tonight to see if that made a difference. No change either way. Same issue on both versions.[/edit]

Not sure about this one. Could be a possible cell service issue as well. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. Reference this forum thread as well. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

You can set it up so that you get photos when there is motion. Maybe the email frequency is < 5 mins as far as interval between t and t+1.
