Title: 4500 connect problem under 802.11g+WEP128bit
Post by: Gokey on July 22, 2009, 06:56:41 PM
Hello,everyone. I met a problem when I used 4500 and set it to 820.11g+WEP128bit.
After that, I found my notebook cannot connect it successfully. All XP,Vista and Windows 7 have this problem. But when I set it to 801.11g+WPA(TKIP) or 802.11g+WPA2(AES). In this case, notebook can connect it. I don't know why set it to 802.11g+WEP cannot connect. I need your help, thank you.

If I've got this right, WEP doesn't work but WPA does?

If nothing on your network uses WEP, you should use WPA+AES.  It is more secure.

If you do need WEP, try WEP+64.

I tried to wep 64bit, unfortunately, the connect fail also.
My 4500 version is A2, and the firmware is 1.14. After i upgrade the firmware to 1.20, the problem still exist.
Is there anybody met this problem like i met?
