Using a DNS-320L With Mac Sierra.
Just updated the firmware to v. 1.08.
Since then, both drive blue LEDs are on (faintly, for the last three days) and I get the message "No media database/library refreshing is in progress."
I can access and download all files through ShareCenter software, but why won't the drives stop indexing (if that is what they are going)?
Restarting makes no difference.
Please, some advice. I believe that drives running constantly will crash sooner.
Just a reminder - I'm using a MACINTOSH.

Try doing a factory reset and set up the DNS from scratch. You won't need to set up the drives and data won't be lost, just set up the DNS again and see if the data base gets fully refreshed. How much data is on these drives?

Thank you for your response. .

Volume_1(Standard)Total 1831.3 GB 328.7 GB Free
Volume_2(Standard)Total 1831.3 GB 1256.1 GB Free
Factory Reset: no change, same problem
Shut down and restart: no change, same problem.
Both drive LEDs lit, drives continually running.
Both Drives pass Scan test, and SMART test.
Updating Firmware v. 1.08 again. Will report when this is done.

You have almost 2Tb of data that the DNS has to scan. Might take a while...

Okay, I'll wait a few days longer. Then I'll download everything to an external drive, reformat, and start over.
I've had a NAS crash before. Recovered about 85% of the data. Not taking any chances again...
Thanks for your help.
