Title: 270 Mps and still bad download results?

Hi there,
i do have an internet connection of 60 Mbps, connected to a DIR-855 and i am using the DWA-160 to communicate with the router.
The properties tell me that the connection is very good and shows 270 Mbps on 2,4 Ghz.
Only problem is that the maximum downloadspeed i can get is about 34 Mbps.
Someone any idea what's missing?

You are confusing the speed problems.  Between the wireless adapter and the router you are achieving 270Mbps, which is correct for 11n network.

Your problem is that your 60Mbps is only giving you 34 Mbps on downloading files.  You need to check the setting available for the WAN connections.

One possible setting change is to set the WAN port to a fixed "cable" speed instead of letting the "broken" default of AUTO.

That's one of the solutions the support guy was giving me as well... without the wanted results :-(
He told me that more users have this problem because the modern modems are using some new protocols, a problem that should be solved by upgrading to the new firmware which should be ready in a couple of days from now.
I will wait for that...

Was that firmware ever released?  Because my drivers are up-to-date and I'm still having this same issue.

Just an hour age i received the newest firmware which should be released to the public this week. Version is 1.13EUR
Will install it tomorrow and post the results. The change document doesn't speak about improved wireless performance, but i hope this helps.

1.13EUb02 is from Feb. 2009 and was released in April.
Not really new ...

If you are truly getting 34mbps, you should be grateful!
I have not seen that kind of performance yet... probably less than 1/34th of your performance.

what revision do you have and what driver version r u using?
