Running Vista Ultimate 32bit.. cams etc work fine, records fine etc etc...
Videos will not convert.. Options remain greyed out and unavailable.
Any idea's on how to fix.. Am I missing a Codec of some form ?.. Installation was uneventful and did not give any errors.
THanks

Did you set the cue in and cue out points?
-
Yup.. always get a 0 byte file?..
BTW:.. why not just have an option to save to avi directly without converting?
-
Always get a 0 byte file? Is it allowing you to now convert? The button is no longer grey and acts as if it is converting? What codec's have your tried?
-
Its cue'ing ok, I reinstalled the app, again with no issues/warnings etc on install.
It cues, can select to convert it, codec options(3), have tried all 3, each without a result other than a 0 length file. Not sure what the behavior is suppose to be once I start the conversion, but there is no feedback of any sort and never seems to end.
How long should it take to convert about 1 minute of footage??. I have left it for awhile (3 or 4 hours) and nothing seems to really happen.
Is there a standalone utility to convert outside of the application?.. again, Why not simply save the video directly to mpeg or avi formats or at least provide the option to do so?
thanks

A minute of footage should be fairly quick probably not over a minute however it will vary depending on the codec and compression selected. It will start and there is a progress meter below that should fill with blue lines until complete. Do you have another PC to try it on?
-
No progress bar is displayed..
What does the computer have to do with it?... But if it helps, I do, but all are vista ultimate, but this one I've simply got a clean install, fully updated and only dlink dview running as the primary app...
Again though,,, Why not tweak the app and simply save directly to avi/mpeg formatted file and avoid the proprietary format all together, or at least as an option.
I have attempted your conversion with all 3 offered codecs to no avail.. same behaviors. just sits there. On my laptop dosn't work either, although everything else does, same as this desktop.

What recording option are you using?
Try creating a manual recording and convert it.
