Title: Ext 2/3/4
Post by: lopan on July 30, 2009, 08:59:53 AM
I believe I read that 1.08 will support ext 3 file format.  If that is true what is the difference between ext 3 and 4 and if 4 is "better" why wouldn't we jump to that?  I am not very familiar with this type of formatting and this is not a challenge just an attempt to better understand the situation.  Tards like Fordem need not reply.

Thank you

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext4

Basically I believe dlink would need to upgrade the kernel to the latest stable version and even then Ext4 is while stable it is a work in progress with performance changing with each kernel release so I personally don't see it happening anytime soon.
