Title: A1 1.12NA discussion (loss/errors/lockups)
Post by: BOFslime on July 31, 2009, 11:19:08 PM
I had been beta testing 1.12b5 and even though as far as I could tell the official release was the same build, I had reflashed anyway and rebuilt my config from scratch.

I had some minor problems with the beta, and had rebuilt the config twice in troubleshooting.  Previously it took 3 days or so for me to start experiencing loss/errors and general latency issues.

24 hours after flashing the official 1.12NA for my revA1 dir-825, the router had locked up. SSID was being broadcast but it would not let you connect to it (attempted from multiple devices). Hard reset and issue was corrected.

About 6 hours after the above reset I seemed to have some issues with internet video being choppy, sure enough I was seeing packetloss and errors (almost 50% error according to the dlink stats tab) when running bandwidth testing (max 10Mbit over several tests.  I hard reset the router, let everything settle then tested again, minimal loss/errors < 1% and bandwidth was restored back to 17Mbit.

I'm going to next disable traffic shaping and qos completely and track performance. I just wanted to open up discussion of the latest firmware since it is now out of beta.
