I set up my DNS-343 a LONG time ago and changed from the default password to something else.
That was a longtime unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me remember what it was, and the one that I stuck on the back dose not work. I have tried everything I can think of - but still no success.
1) Can I do a factory reset or will all the data be lost ?
2) How do I recover from this?
-
1. Insert paperclip in rear hole on back labeled "Reset". Hold for 10-15seconds while power is on the unit.
2. Once the unit comes back from its boot up sequence, run Easy Search Utility or look on the OLED for the IP address that the unit is assigned. Go to that ip address in your browser via http://IP_ADDRESS.
3. ??
4. Profit.

So the data will be safe ?
-
Yes. The only thing changed is the flash settings will be reverted to default. All data will remain on the disks.
-
so raid information is not rest ?
-
Correct. Raid information is retained.
