Title: WebSite Access
Post by: MoonRock on August 06, 2009, 09:03:02 AM
I have a A3/1.32NA 655 router and I hope someone can help me with this web access setup:

I have a web filter policy to permanently block certain websites 24/7 thru Access control - configured and tested ok.

But then I'd also want to setup a second web filter access policy blocking only certain websites on certain times during the day and certain days during the week on top of the first policy. Other times these websites can be accessed freely. Is it possible? I checked the advanced menu and didn't seem to find a way to do this.

My old D-Link 604 would let me setup this way.

Thanks.

I have a similar problem with less success.

I want to set up parental control of my DIR-655.
According to the administration manual and several forum posts I have:
•   set up website filter with some keywords to DENY access to,
•   enabled Access Control
•   set up access control policy, as
   o   ALWAYS
o   specific machines with MAC + ‘Other  Machines’
o   Block Some Access: Apply Web Filter
   o   Web Access Logging Disabled
•   Rebooted the device.
After several attempts it still does not work - I even looked for the mentioned ‘SecureSpot’ checkbox but I haven’t found it in my firmware.
  Hardware version: A3
  Firmware Version : 1.37NA

Has any of you managed to make access control work??
How?

The only way I managed to get some access control working is when I selected filtering method as ‘Block All Access’. It blocked everything.   :)

I have posted a service request at D-Link Support as well…

I am in Hungary.

ISP service is 3 in 1 through one cable: Internet, cable TV, IP Phone.
The Internet service is 30Mbit/sec downward / 5Mbit/sec upward speed.

The ISP modem model is: Cisco EPC3925 EuroDocsis 3.0 2-PORT Voice Gateway.
It is a cable modem, wifi router and phone 'connector' in a box.
