Hi,
I just bought a second DIR-655 so that I could get improved wireless and wired access upstairs in my house. I want to use the LAN ports on the new router for wired access in that room, and I want a stronger signal to the other upstairs rooms. I'd like everyone to be able to use a shared printer, which supports wired and wireless access.
How do I set-up the new DIR-655?
The old DIR-655 has the following settings:
WAN Settings:
Connection type: PPPoE
IP Address: 71.131.***.***
subnet mask: 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway: 71.131.***.***
Router IP address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
DHCP Server: Enabled
Wireless Radio: Enabled
Security Mode: WEP
I've been trying to set-up the second DIR-655 as follows:
Static IP address of 192.168.0.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 198.168.0.1
I am getting a error msg that says, :WAN subset conflicts with LAN subset.
I am don't understand networking very well, so go easy on me.
THanks,
Mark

Hi,
Thanks. This seems to be working now that I switched from the WAN port to a LAN port on the 2nd router.
Thanks,
Mark
