Title: High Gain Antenna for DIR-615
Post by: JacksonWong on August 08, 2009, 04:05:10 PM
Hello guys, I am from Singapore and had recently bought an DIR-615. I am experiencing dis-connection problem when I am in my room. Thus, was thinking to purchasing a couple of high gain antenna to improve the signal strength. I am wondering are there any antenna that are recommended for the router?

I am wondering are 3rd party or other brands (linksys, etc) would be suitable too?

Hi guys,

I got a pair of ASUS 5dBi High Gain Antenna for my DIR 615 router. The signal strength improved and I am experiencing less disconnection. Was planning to get the 7dBi antenna but the cost was slightly higher and if I am going to get a pair, would cost me SGD $20+ more.

I got a pair of Linksis 7dBi antennas HGA7S. They are pretty expensive here in Europe (~40USD at Amazon), but the result is great, even through the walls. No disconnection even with 2 laptops surfing the web, a Linux server and a web radio working all together.

Check your speeds.. As far as I know there are no wireless N third party antennas..Also you will need to pair any antennas you purchase..

I may be wrong but I kind of want to know if G antennas can do N speeds.. i thought it wasn't possible..
