I know there are already topics here about the low wan speed issue. Unfortunately I did not read/find a proper solution. :-\
I purchased a DIR 825 (Hardware Version: B1 / Firmware Version: 2.00EU) because I have read in several tests that this router is very fast!
I have a 50 Mbit/s connection and uses an Ubee EVM3200 cable modem.
If connected directly to PC or 3com giga switch internet speed is great (50 Mbit/s DOWN).
But if connected via the DIR-825 the download speed drops to 30 Mbit/s or less and is very unstable???
I have tried: disable QoS Engine, disable Automatic Uplink Speed (SET Manual Uplink Speed), disable firewall, set WAN port speed to auto, 100 and 1000 Mbps.
Nothing seems to help.
I really hope that this problem can be solved soon (and I am not the only one here!).
Please Dlink give us an answer...
I am very disappointed for now.... :'(
Thanks

WAN port disconnect is a known issue with the B1 hardware. Check ftp.dlink.de for a beta version of V2.01 firmware that may resolve that issue.
Let us know if it also improves your WAN port speed.

Thanks claykin for your help but it did not changed anything...
I give up and send the DIR825 back to the shop, it's give me a headache!
This afternoon I bought the Sitecom Wireless Gigabit Gaming Router 300N-XR.
WOW, full speed out of the box. It's also a great looking device too... and FAST.
Thanks Sitecom and.........
No more Dlink for me

That works too. Hopefully this is motivation for Dlink to fix the B1 issues soon....

Hate to resume an old thread, but I'm having a similar problem too with 2.02NA. I don't get any disconnects that I've noticed, but my wan speed is abnormal. I have a 20Mbit connection with 25 burst. Sometimes I can max the 20, but other times it will only pull 13-18. I've tried disabling about everything and nothing seems to work consistently.
It seems like added activity on the unit slows the main connection down quite a bit, that's my best guess. Very frustrating considering this is basic functionality and my 5 year old linksys did the job fine. Too late to take it back though, so I guess I'm out of luck unless a firmware update comes along?
If anyone has ideas I'm more than happy to try. It's obviously capable of higher speeds as I do see them sometimes and others fair a bit better.
