I have been attempting without success to update the firmware on my DSR-250 from V2.11 to the most recent version. I have hardware version A3 to according to the instructions do not need the intermediate step. However, I have attempted multiple times. The DSR-250 begins the process then returns the message that the "Operation Not Allowed". I'm signed in as Admin. The process has been attempted via uploading the FW update and via the USB both yield the same result.
What is the proper process to update the firmware?
I'm located in the USA.

What is the intermediate step? Might try this step and see...
What browser are you using? Use IE11 or FF.

Per the readme.txt file:
Please follow the upgrade procedure
1. Please check HW version on device UI first.
2. Select a correct firmware version and upgrade method.
- If your device is A3 or B2 platform, please directly upgrade v3.11 common firmware
- If your device is A2 or B1 platform, Please upgrade v3.11 intermediate firmware first,
then upgrade v3.11 common firmware.
The DSR-250 being upgraded in hardware version A3. Per the instructions that were given as above, " If your device is A3 or B2 platform, please directly upgrade v3.11 common firmware". The intermediate step is only for hardware versions A2 or B1.
The browser being used is the most recent version of Chrome.

OK, Lets try IE11 or FF. I don't recommend using Chrome for any FW updates.

Firefox yielded the same result.

I recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and get here help on this. I presume if all of the conditions have been met that the FW update should install. Could be something wrong. Let us know how it goes.
