Title: 340L Streaming Problem
Post by: gus1958 on September 07, 2017, 12:55:25 PM
I have a Bose lifestyle 530 home theartre that I want to stream music to from my dns 530L. The Bose app for it will recognise some folders but not the actual music files.  I have researched and tried for days to change permissions through windows 10 but I get errors every time.the Nas is set up with upnp etc but I think its in its permissions settings where the problem occurs. It has 3 group or user names in windows properties (Everyone, root user and root group) and that is all it allows. I cannot even change the permissions for those accounts without an error. I'm thinking (I'm no expert) that because the NAS has its own processor and mini operating system that it won't grant me admin rights from my windows 10 pc. Does anyone know a way around this if my hunch is right? cheers...

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What browser are you using with the DNS?

Try setting up a actual USER name account on the DNS and give a Password and set access rights, READ and WRITE and test...
