Title: DIR-860L problems
Post by: mihaitaa on September 10, 2017, 12:27:10 AM
Hello all.
I bought a few days ago the D-Link DIR-860L AC 1200 router, 4 x Gigabit LAN, USB 3.0, set up, set off ... all good. On my phone (LG V20) work both networks, on another android goes well the 2.4 network, the problem is on a Lumia 540XL (windows phone) that goes very badly network, barely connects and sometimes does not see it at all. I tried different settings on 2.4 network, sometimes it went, sometimes not ... it's not working more often. I noticed that it started to lose networks, when 2.4 when 5 ... at configuration appeared that the network are ok. Frequently the speed is fluctuating. I tested it with the old router and it works perfectly on the 540 XL network, so it's not problem with the phone.
Data from the router: current Firmware Version: 2.03, Current Firmware Date: 2015-04-20 16:35:00, on the paper on them is B1 / 2.03
I have a PPOE connection at 300 mb (romania) speed and I have the following speeds (phone beside the router):
- 5: U-92 Mbps, D-84 Mbps
- 2.4: U-0.94 Mbps, D-0.84 Mbps (at that time)
On both networks all settings are on auto. Please have anybody have these problems and can help me with some advice. My brother has the same router model and works very well. I want to know if there is a problem with settings, software or is a problem with the router, I give it to service or replace it with another mark ...
I tryed to change settings on both networks but not working
Thank you.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

Romania, i have 300 Mbps PPPoE connection.
I replace the router with a new router same model. Still have same problems...Slow speed in another room at 2.4, lose connection, very unstable. I try to change settings like you tell me, no result. I cannot understand what is the problem with this router... :( :o
Tomorrow i will give back the router and take from another producer.
