Title: DNS-320L-Add folders in USB HDD to Multimedia server
Post by: robergo on November 03, 2017, 01:12:23 PM
I connected an USB HDD to my 320L. I tried to add folders in this HDD to the multimedia server. But when I click on "add" the multimedia center interface recognize only the internal HDDs. Is this normal or I forgot something?
Thanks a lot

You need to copy the folders from the USB drive to the NAS, then you can add them to the MM server.

The reason being, the USB drive is a removable drive and if the MM server indexed them and then you unplugged the drive there would be a gap in the index that could mess up the entire index - not a good thing to happen.
