I have some dcs-936l cams and am trying to whitelist my firewall as much as possible. I know the ports, but where does my cameras need to connect to so I can access then via mydlink Lite (either URL or IPs)?
Thanks

I would use the IP address of the camera.
Might look at your routers uPnP or route table to see if the camera ports or IP addresses appear there...
Usually firewall entries are not needed unless your using a specific Firewall appliance device.

A firewall entry is needed because I have blocked everything internal going out unless I specifically give it access (white list). I need to know what the dcs-936l's are trying to connect to when I access them in mydlink lite. I see there is a mydlinklite.com. Is that where my cameras connect to so I can view them with the mydlink lite app?
-
Yes,that app and service should not be blocked.
-
That's why I am trying to find out what the cameras connect to so I can open the firewall to the correct destination and ports.
-
I would try 80 and 443. I also see one of my cameras connection to port 554 as well however not sure if thats specific or random...
-
I have those ports, but what about the destination? I tried mydlinklite.com but it didn't work.
-
Try mydlink.com

That wasn't it, but I was able to go through logs and resolve what I need.

What did you find out?
