I would like to address my DVR from outside home.
As MyDlink is using my home IP when connecting from outside via my smartphone,
is there a way to obtain the external IP address trough MyDlink, i.e. accessing a file in the NAS?

- What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
The main point of the mdlink service is to avoid any WAN or IP address configurations and keeping that information hidden from external un-authorized users thru this service. Any external IP address is hidden or not used by the service.

@FurryNutz
hereafter the additional information:
- HW Ver. A3
- FW Ver. 1.08 04/20/2016
- Italy
- Modem/router Huawey Echolife HG553
"Any external IP address is hidden or not used by the service." ??
One of the App loaded on the NAS is Dropbox, witch I'm not using. This App needs the WAN address to properly work, did you agree?
The NAS configuration has the Dynamic DNS option disabled, but I can access the NAS from WAN via MyDlink, is it correct or should I modify the actual settings?
The NAS label has a mydlink number 600xxxxx, is it of any use other than the information as is for the MAC number?

You can look at the WAN IP address of the ISP modem and if the drop box app needs this address and has a place to input this, then you can try to configure the app. The ISP modem/router should be handling traffic thru the router with the DNS automatically with out having to configure the app.
Something you might contact the Mfr of the app and ask to see if any router or NAS configurations is needed for this app...
