I've been using this freeware program with my DCS-5300G camera for some time now, and thought others might enjoy using it! It's been out for quite some time, and I had it on my old Dell Axim 51.
Along with the 5300/G, the author (J. Preston) states it will work with the DCS-2100g and the DCS-900.
It works with PTZ too! Great with a Wifi connection, and should work with many WinMob phones.

This is an absolutely fantastic program! I just downloaded it and installed it on my HTC Tilt and I can now do something I have not been able to do that my friends who have Linksys cameras have been able to do...and that's view the cams on their Smartphones.
My question is why doesn't D-Link make a software like this? I have tried to view my cams using my smartphone ever since I got the cams, but nothing works...this application works!

oh wow....it works well on my Dash3G. When I have 3G coverage, I am getting pretty smooth video. I swear I Googled for something like this a zillion times but this site never came up. Thanks for finding this!

Hey Mods, any chance of making a sticky post for this program? No need to reference this thread; I just think this program is great and the author should get recognition...

Sure why not... ;D

The link above no longer works. Would someone be able to send me a copy of the program?
Thanks

I updated the link in the original post.

Hi I am new to mobile applications. When I download the file it is a zip file that contains 3 more zip files. Are the contents of these three zip files then supposed to be installed on your cellular phone? Also where and how?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Mr. Preston includes 3 different versions of the program in the zip file:
1. CamPlayCab_ppc.cab is for Windows Mobile devices with a touchscreen. I use it on a Dell Axim X51 with Windows Mobile 5.0 on it.
2. CamSF_sp.cab is for Windows Smartphones with no touchscreen.
3. The Java folder has the .jad and .jar files for a java-capable phone.
Pick the one that is most accurate for your phone. Only one of the three options needs to be installed. (The Java version does need both files installed).

i was able to get this to work with the dcs-920 by selecting the dcs-900...but it appears to only show me a small portion of the video window... like the top left..
anyway to modify it to capture a whole 640x480 window?

Hi Ionizer,
I am using a dcs900 which may be different enough to not be of any help to you. But I did have to setup the video size to match the phone (320x240 I think).
So basicaly, it seems that you cant have both a large image for a desktop and a small image...it's one or the other. Since I really only use the phone to monitor this camera, it hasnt been an issue.
The dcs5300 I have doesnt have this problem...the desktop page and the phone page can use different sizes.

iSpy is an excellent alternative to D-ViewCam: http://www.ispyconnect.com/download.aspx

Been using this app for quite awhile on my Dash (thanks, WyreNut!).
Just got an Android G2x and installed the droid version from the market place. Found the link on this page:
http://mytrackingonline.com/camPlayer
I saw a couple of other free apps on the market place that are supposed to work with my DCS5300. Only tried one (tinyCamFree or something like that). It worked, but no pan/tilt. It did have a bigger screen though. Maybe the paid version has this? If I had more patience I would try the others.
Anyway, this works fine and I know it wont screw up my phone. It also works with a panasonic BLC30 I have.

Both tinyCam Monitor FREE and PRO versions support pan-tilt for DCS-5300G. PTZ is available in full screen layout (1-cam layout). Press on "..." (three dots icon). Check out this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJjG6jcWL7I#t=128s) for how to control the camera
