Title: Connect to Wireless access point
Post by: kjetilhansen on February 26, 2018, 11:21:47 PM
Hello all  :)

At work the wi-fi extender is to far away so I brought my own.

I have connected it to the network and am connected to it with my phone. The extender is DWL-2100AP.

The problem is that I want to connect to it and change the SSID and set a password. But I am not on the default gateway so it does not work to connect to 192.168.0.50

On my phone it sais the router adress is 10.140.37.1 and subnet 255.255.255.128 (the subnet is the same as the cabled computer is on)

How can I find the accesspoint and configure it?

Try this FAQ --> http://support.dlink.com/FAQView.aspx?f=ibYg%2bfbbFlsNOM91jFFS%2bg%3d%3d (http://support.dlink.com/FAQView.aspx?f=ibYg%2bfbbFlsNOM91jFFS%2bg%3d%3d)

This being an older product http://dlinkap.local. most likely will not work. You can check the dhcp table in your router to see what IP address it got assigned or manually configure it (FAQ link above).

Remember this AP only supports 802.11g/b connections. This AP also does not support WPA/WPA2, only WEP. If the router is newer (802.11N or AC), connectivity may not be the best.
