Title: DNS-323 problem (connect, blinking LEDs)
Post by: TomHillebrand on May 16, 2018, 05:45:52 AM
Hi UG
My ~6+ old DNS-323 with 2x 1TB in RAID-1 stopped working. AFIK there was no power fault.
Checking the drive the big LED (Power button) was OFF, the little LED (access, underneath Power button) fast blinking.
I powered down, start new:
- The Power LED blinks fast, device is starting
- Power LED blinks slower (at this time DNS120 software can detect device, but I can't map it)
- Power LED goes OFF and Access LED continues to blink fast (DNS can't detect device anymore)
Access via browser/IP address failed

Before I start to try recovery via Ext2IFS I hope someone got a great Idea how to get the DNS-323 accessible again.
Thanks in advance

Check the power adapter tip for voltage and amps. Might try a similar power adapter with same specs...

What does the user manual say about LED behaviors?

Difficult to check without specs  :-(   but PSU seams to be ok
Similar PSU? Plug has 4 Pins. If I would have one "similar" I could blow up the DNS-323 if one Pin has wrong voltage

Specs are posted on the sticker on the power supply brick.

Unfortunately nothing. Samples:
Hard Drive is Full    An alert will be sent when the hard drive is full.
Critical Error     An alert will be sent if a critical error occurs on one of the drives
