Title: Setting Folder Permissions
Post by: jrbilodeau on December 07, 2007, 12:50:01 PM
Hi,

I was just wondering if there is anyway to set permissions to multiple folders for users or groups. Cause the way that i see it so far it seems like you can either give root access to a user/group or assign read or read/write to one folder only. This to me seems pretty silly to me, cause if i set up the ftp and want to give read acces to one folder to a user and give them read/write to an other folder, i would need to give them two different usernames and passwords.

Yes that is true you can only set one permission per user. and if you want to set up additional folders for the same user you would have to make a new one.

Any plans on changing this to make it a little more useful?

What a silly limitation.....  not at all useful.  I hope D-Link will correct this.
